While I was doing a scouting trip in Brisbane, Aussie, some of my sites were hacked. There was not much I could do as I had limited internet access and my main coder had taken a well deserved break. I am not one to freak out about stuff, so I just carried on and did not think about it (I mean what kind of help is worrying going to give you?). Actually, I am a little embarrassed to tell you how they got in to my sites. I will blame it on one of my coders. He left a huge gaping hole in having a site with both username and passwords being named as admin (what was he thinking!?).
You probably have already received quite a few emails already about, Chris Munch’s, Sentry Pigeon. He was not giving out review copies before the launch, so I could not tell you if was useful or not. Why promote it if it has already been promoted by heaps of others? Because the vast majority of affiliates don’t even look at the product. So, they are just going by reputation and by how much money they can make. I know this from my own launches.
I have taking a look at it now and it is good info and they have walkthrough videos of all of the steps. The problem is that like ¾ of the videos don’t seem to have any sound (unless it is just me). I am sure they will have that fixed soon. It doesn’t matter to me as I am going to outsource all of this, ha! This has to be the most comprehensive security courses I have seen. It seems to be very indepth and a well thought out.
There is a OTO WP plugin, which I have not brought yet, but looks pretty good (I tend to bypass OTOs to check out the product first). For some reason you have to check out the OTO twice (you will see what I mean).
I still do not know the full extent of what the hackers did to my sites. Luckily none of these sites are money making ones. I consider myself pretty fortunate not to have one of these nightmarish situations where you are banned from Google and other places (you can read about it in the sales thread). But this could of so easily happened to me. Scary stuff!
This has happened to me before. I mean I was hacked a couple of years ago (Why didn’t I learn from that one? I had just forgotten the pain involved, I guess). If you don’t have protection, it is just going to be a matter of time before you will get hacked. You don’t have to use this system, but make sure you use something (I am preaching to myself here. I need a good kick up the backside). As they say in my country, “Do it once, do it right!” (or something like that)
